Margaret Corion is the Senior Case Manager/Registrar at the Office of the Independent Review Director (OIPRD). She also coordinates the OIPRD’s Alternate Dispute Resolution Programs. The programs provide opportunities for complainants and police officers to informally resolve public complaints. Margaret is also a mediator and mediates complaints involving complainants and police officers.
Margaret has held investigative, adjudicative and oversight positions within several ministries of the Ontario Public Service, including the Ontario Pay Equity Commission, the (former) Office of the Police Complaints Commissioner and Ombudsman Ontario. She is also a volunteer mediator (and former trainer) with a Toronto based not-for-profit organization.
Margaret feels very fortunate to be pursuing several of her passions in her current role with the OIPRD: leadership, mediation, training, and a keen interest in policing and police oversight. She holds a Master’s Degree in Criminology from the University of Toronto and an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree (Law and Criminology) from Carleton University, Ottawa.
