The Eastern Ontario Colleges Consortium / Consortium des Collèges de l’Est de l’Ontario was created to deliver an exciting new SkillsAdvance Ontario project for the Steel and Aluminum Manufacturing and Metal Fabrication sector of Eastern Ontario.  The consortium is made up of Algonquin, Fleming, St. Lawrence, La Cite and Loyalist Colleges, your trusted partners in talent acquisition, ongoing training, and professional development.

Funded by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities through SkillsAdvance Ontario (SAO). We offer workforce development support, including no-cost training for the steel and aluminum and metal fabrication sector of Eastern Ontario.  SkillsAdvance Ontario will support sector-based workforce development by funding partnerships that connect employers with the employment and training services required to recruit and advance workers with the right essential, technical, and employability skills.

How does the program work?

The project will support participating employers and workers through identifying workforce development needs including job vacancies and incumbent worker skills by customized training and upskilling of the existing & required workforce, with a focus on improving job retention and advancing skills for industry competitiveness.  Through the EOCC, you can access specialized training to meet the needs of your existing and future workforce (including College delivered, third party, and product vendor training).  Eligible training can include technical, trades, leadership & change management, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance.  The EOCC provides access to customized training – developed in consultation with industry-tailored for your sector.
