Establishing and maintaining employee performance is a challenge for most managers.  And “navigating those difficult conversations” even tougher.  In this session, we’ll explore and show you how to manage the performance cycle from setting performance standards, onboarding through training, to feedback and coaching, to setting performance goals, and drafting performance improvement plans when performance derails. And finally, the dreaded “how to handle progressive discipline leading to termination” question.

 If you are charged with responsibility for managing employee performance, you’ll find this session of interest. Learn new approaches to align employees with performance expectations, so as to enhance engagement and reduce turnover.

  • Defining what consists non-performance
  • Exploring if non-performance requires an accommodation
  • Using respectful conversations as a way of giving feedback
  • Explore how coaching, can correct de-railed behavior

  • Examine ways to avoid being labelled as a bully or harassing managing when giving performances feedback

 No endless PowerPoint presentations here. We use interactive approaches geared to your learning style, plus lots of discussion and learning from each other. The result is a learning environment that is fun, and has immediate transfer to the work environment.

 Who is your facilitator?

Vern Belos is a human resource specialist and professional workplace facilitator who trains managers and leaders with practical perspectives on today’s demanding HR issues.  He provides advisory and consulting in the area of emotional intelligence and the psychologically safe and respectful workplace. Vern holds a master’s degree in law from Osgoode Hall Law School, a masters in human resources, and doctorate in organizational development. He is a Certified Psychological Health and Safety Advisor.
