Program curriculum

Loyalist College has partnered with Quinte Economic Development Commission and through the support of Employment Ontario are offering the Machine Trade Skills for Manufacturing micro-credential.  This program is designed to provide learners with specialized knowledge and hands-on skills essential for effectively managing and enhancing the front-line operations within a manufacturing environment.

The program is scheduled to run 8 weeks, with a total duration of 64 hours, holding sessions once a week. It is divided into distinct learning modules, covering the below topics:

• Trades Math
• Blue-Print Reading
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Metrology
• Machine Shop Techniques
• CNC operations

The program incorporates a blend of theoretical concepts and hands-on components, providing learners the opportunity to directly apply and test their knowledge!

Participant eligibility

Participants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for this program:

• Must be currently working in Manufacturing
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada (not open to international students)
• Legally entitled to work in Canada according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations

*Note: Additional requirements related to the work placement may include a criminal record check and proof of certain immunizations. Students may be exposed to communicable diseases during their work placement.
