Forklift Operator Safety
Driving is only part of the job. Safety is key! This course will put you in the driver’s seat.
This is a compliant course for experienced and inexperienced forklift drivers. We deliver the operational safety and practical assessment for learners to operate a motorized, counterbalanced forklift. Ask most aeroplane pilots what their most important function is, and they’ll likely say “safety”. This is no less true for forklift work, where you’ll have to operate swiftly with people moving around, worry about hazardous materials, and stack loads securely. Your Forklift Operator Safety Certificate is valid for three years. If your card has expired, you will need this training session. This course meets or exceeds all Ontario and CSA regulations and standards.
Course Content
- Applicable regulations
- Types of forklifts
- Main parts of a forklift
- Understanding forklift safety
- Fuels and batteries
- Minimum skill levels for using a motorized counterbalanced forklift in a reasonably challenging work simulation.
- Practical, hands-on pre-use inspection, safe operating and parking/shut-down procedures. Practice under the helpful eye of the program trainer.
Your knowledge and skill level will be evaluated, and only those able to demonstrate a minimum operational competence will receive documentation of successful program completion.
Requirements: All participants are required to provide protective safety footwear to attend the warehouse portion of the course.
