This introductory course will guide students through basic theory and safety aspects of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), popular with home hobbyists as well as in high-production welding, and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), one of the oldest and most common arc welding processes. Hands-on training will be held in our state-of-the-art Welding facility, common joint types and positions will be discussed and practiced. More Details

Requirements:  Students must bring their own Safety Gear. Mandatory Items include a welding mask, welding gloves (heavy gauntlet style), safety glasses and steel-toe safety shoes/work boots.

Gas Technician 3 Challenge Exam Prep – Blended

This blended (self-paced & live instructor lead) course is designed for individuals looking to become Licensed Gas Technician 3’s (GT3) and currently working in the Heating/HVAC industry. The theory portion of the course is delivered online, with one day onsite (Shannonville ON) for the practical portion. Upon completing this course, individuals will have gained the knowledge to challenge the theoretical and practical portion of the Gas Technician 3 challenge exam through the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA). Small Engine Repair

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to complete repairs and regular maintenance to their own small engine equipment. This might include lawnmowers, trimmers, snow blowers, riding tractors, chainsaws and garden tillers. There will be two evenings of theory covering two and four-cycle engines, troubleshooting, carburetors and ignition systems. The students will then work on their own projects which they bring to class. There will be practical demonstrations throughout the rest of the course. It is recommended students bring an assortment of screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchet and socket sets to class. However, the Instructor has tools that students are able to use. Safety foot and eyewear MUST BE WORN at all times.
