CONTUNIOUS INTAKE

Developed by the Canadian Healthcare Housekeepers’ Association, this program will provide education for Frontline Workers in Healthcare Facilities. This 1-2 week (32 hrs) course addresses the aspects of the healthcare cleaning profession, in particular, the importance of proper techniques and practices to reduce the risk of infection, and follows recommended (Provincial Infection Control Advisory Committee) best practice for environmental cleaning. Upon completion, students will have a clear understanding of the importance of their role in the Healthcare cleaning environment.

Provided with the course is a dedicated mentor to offer one-on-one coaching and support.

Footcare for Caregivers

This self-paced online course will provide you with an introduction to Foot Health for all support personnel and caregivers, promoting general health through prevention and early detection of common and serious conditions and increasing awareness of diabetic complications. Support Workers in Long-Term Care homes, hospitals, homecare, institutional and community settings, as well as family members supporting loved ones, and patients newly diagnosed with Diabetes, will all find this course extremely helpful in identifying their very important role as part of the patient’s foot health team.  Learners will have 4 weeks to complete the course from the start of registration.

Mental Health In the Workplace

Advanced Foot Care Nurse – Theory

The Online Foot Care Nurse Theory course (FCN Theory) provides a theoretical foundation for nurses preparing for a career in nursing foot care, or who are looking to expand the scope of their nursing skills.

This course is designed for nurses (RN’s, NP’s, RPN’s & LPN’s) new to foot care, or for experienced Foot Care Nurses who wish to update their knowledge and skills. The course follows a comprehensive, advanced and diabetic nursing foot care curriculum. This curriculum is based on current best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice, including the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses’ National Competencies for Advanced Nursing Foot Care in Canada (2017).

After successfully completing the FCN Theory course, nurses must complete clinical training in order to work as a Foot Care Nurse.

The Foot Care Nurse Clinical course (formerly FCN Part 2) is designed for nurses (RN’s, NP’s, RPN’s & LPN’s) who have successfully completed the Online Foot Care Nurse Theory course and are ready to practice their Foot Care Nurse skills onsite with the guidance and supervision of a Foot Care Nurse Educator. The course uses the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses’ National Competencies for Advanced Nursing Foot Care in Canada (2017) as Clinical Performance Standards and teaches a comprehensive, advanced and diabetic nursing foot care curriculum, which follows current best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice.

Self-Regulation in Early Years

This course supports educators to be better equipped to work with dysregulated children and youth within a childcare or before and after school program setting. This session explores Dr. Stuart Shanker’s 5 step method and framework in not only supporting how excess stress impacts children learning, but also leaders and educators themselves, and what they can do about it. By applying this method and framework you are supporting children with their healthy development and learning.

This course is a Virtual (Live Instructor Lead) which requires student to have access to a computer or laptop (with camera) that can run Zoom. Student will be required to be on camera to participate in course activities.
