Join our Supportive Care program to develop essential skills required to be successful in when practicing Supportive Care. You will learn to engage effectively with clients and colleagues, emphasizing well-being, professionalism, and confidentiality. Key outcomes include practicing empathy, respecting clients’ unique needs and rights, and mastering effective communication to foster an inclusive environment. Throughout the course, you’ll learn about safe, supportive care practices that promote client independence while adhering to infection control protocols and addressing safety hazards.

HLTH 9041 – Supportive Care Professionalism (2 weeks , 10hrs)This course provides learners with an in-depth understanding of their role as a Supportive Care Assistant (SCA) within an interprofessional healthcare team. Participants will explore how to engage effectively with both clients and team members to promote client well-being. The course emphasizes the importance of demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and confidentiality in all interactions with clients, families, team members, and employers. By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to contribute to the collaborative care process while maintaining the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct.

HLTH 9043 – Support Worker – Client and Family-Centered Assistance (2 weeks , 10hrs)In this course, learners will explore the concept that every client and family is unique, with their own individual needs, preferences, and values. The course emphasizes the importance of providing care that respects these differences and choices. As a Supportive Care Assistant (SCA), participants will gain an understanding of the attitudes, beliefs, skills, knowledge, and actions that are essential for working effectively within a healthcare team. They will learn how to apply these qualities to provide compassionate, client- and family-centered support in their role.

HLTH 9044 – Support Worker – Communication in Health Care (2 weeks , 10hrs)This module equips learners with the foundational knowledge, skills, and effective communication techniques necessary to offer meaningful support to clients and their families. Emphasizing the importance of teamwork, the course helps participants understand how to collaborate efficiently with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care. Through this course, learners will gain the tools needed to foster strong, supportive relationships with both clients and families, ensuring that their needs are met with respect and professionalism.

HLTH 9045 – Supportive Assistance Role (2 weeks , 10hrs)In this course, learners will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe and supportive assistance that encourages client independence. The focus will be on applying techniques that promote the autonomy and well-being of clients while ensuring their safety and comfort. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to offer care that respects clients’ abilities and empowers them to maintain as much independence as possible in their daily lives.

HLTH 9046 – Infection Control and Safety in Health Care (2 weeks , 10hrs)This course teaches learners the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and provides essential guidance on how to respond to safety hazards and unsafe situations. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to ensure their own safety, as well as the safety of clients and colleagues, in various healthcare environments. By the end of the course, learners will be prepared to implement effective safety protocols and handle hazardous situations with confidence and professionalism.
