We want your child to have a great time at camp; please familiarize yourself with this IMPORTANT information.

Things to Bring

  • Healthy snacks
  • Sunscreen/Bug Spray (if required)
  • Camp/Weather appropriate attire (outdoor play, air conditioned facility)
  • Water bottle (labeled)
  • Running shoes (or closed toe shoe) – MUST be worn at all times
  • Scent Free Zone

Camp hours

Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 3:30pm, and Friday 9:00am – 12:30pm!  Please have your child here 15 min. early for check-in.  For campers attending before & after care, drop off will begin at 8:30am and pick up no later than 4:00 pm FIRM Monday – Thursday, and drop off will begin at 8:30am and pick up no later than 1:00pm FIRM Friday.

Sign-in/out Procedures

All campers will be signed in upon arrival and out upon departure by the registered parent/guardian or designated alternate as indicated on the application form.  Be PREPARED to show a Government-issued ID when checking out your camper(s).

Camp Expectations for a Safe Space

To ensure that all campers have the opportunity to play and grow in a positive space, we have a zero-tolerance policy for negative camper conduct. Campers will be informed of our Safe Space policy allowing campers to be comfortable and secure during camp.

Financial Assistance

Families who are seeking financial support are required to complete the financial assistance portion of the application and submit supporting documents.  Families applying for support will automatically be considered for The Children’s Foundation subsidy. As of 2024, the Loyalist College Financial Assistance will not be available.

We will use the 2024 LICO table (below) to assess financial assistance as detailed in the chart below.  Support will be given based on family size (the number of adults and children in the household) and total household income (includes anyone 18+ years).

Supporting documents MUST include the following:

  • Most recent Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment(s), and
  • Most recent Canadian Child Benefit (CCB) Notice of Assessment

You may also submit the following, if applicable:

  • TWO current pay stubs;
  • Ontario Works monthly statement; and/or
  • Ontario Disability Support Program monthly statement

Note: If you have already used the maximum amount of funding provided per family from The Children’s Foundation, you cannot apply for additional funding through this camp opportunity unless prepared to pay the full amount for registration. DO NOT submit a separate application to The Children’s Foundation for Loyalist Camp funding.  The subsidy provided by The Children’s Foundation for LINKS at Loyalist College campers will be counted towards any further requests for funding through The Children’s Foundation Camps of Hope. 

How to Access Your CCB Proof of Income

To access your Canada Child Benefit (CCB) information online, use the Canada Revenue Agency’s My Account service and follow these easy steps below.

  1. Log in with your User ID & password here >> https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/e-services/digital-services-individuals/a-proof-income-statement-option-print.html

  2. In the Benefit & Credit section, click on the “Go to Benefits & Credits details” tab.

  3. In the Benefits section, click on the “Canada Child Benefit” link.

  4. You will be directed to a page where the current status of your CCB will be displayed.

  5. Download a copy of your latest CCB, and then save it to your computer to upload as proof of income for your child’s camp application.

Ontario Child and Family Services Act

Loyalist College camp staff and volunteers are legally required to follow the Ontario Child and Family Services Act and must report a child in need of protection. Camp staff working with children must be over 18 and submit a current Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector, for the duration of the camps.

Allergies/Medication

We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment, however, if informed (on application) we will ensure the food for your child, provided by Loyalist College, does not contain the known allergen and try to limit any contact or cross-contamination.

If campers require medication, parents/guardians  MUST complete the medical statement (on application).  Staff will store medication in a safe location and remind campers when it is time to be taken.  Staff will not administer medication except in emergency/life-saving situations.

Absenteeism

If your child is absent, we ask that you contact the Camp Coordinator at mdyck@loyalistcollege.com or call 613-969-1913 ext. 2235 to report the absenteeism.

If you suspect your child may have a contagious condition such as COVID, head lice, pink eye, poison ivy etc., do NOT send them to camp.

Refund Policy/Camp Cancellations

Programs that do not meet the minimum registration may be cancelled. If your camp program is cancelled, we will contact you and provide alternative camp options (if available) or a full refund. Cancellation notice will be given one week before camp start date.

No refunds will be given for absenteeism or withdrawals that come later than five business days prior to camp start date.

Sunscreen

Campers are responsible for their own sunscreen application; however, staff will assist those who have difficulty applying their sunscreen appropriately.

Valuables

We ask that all valuables such as toys, electronics, jewelry and sentimental items be left at home. We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings. We will have a designated area at the pick-up and drop-off point for lost and found items.  Please check this regularly and label your child’s belongings.

Inclusive Recreation

If your child(ren) has any accommodation requirement(s) not disclosed on the application, please notify staff two weeks prior to the start of camp.
